Zach Freeman

by Tre Simmons

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Zach Freeman is an aspiring sci-fi novelist with dreams of making it big off of his writing skills. He came to Texas State University via a mail ad and has enjoyed his time here ever since.

As a 26-year old student at Texas State, Zach Freeman has been here to find some ups and downs about our campus. He wasn't too fond of his stay at Sterry Hall, but Elliott Hall and the architectural aesthetic of our campus have proven to be much more pleasant.

Additionally, he works at our on-campus radio station, KTSW 89.9, in the production department, and is more fond of his time there than he initially thought he would be. He finds on-air work a little scary, but also appreciates the structure and acumen it requires to uphold his responsibilities and deadlines there.

His work at the radio station works well in conjunction with the pursuit of his journalism degree, and it provides him with opportunities he didn't feel he could find in his hometown. Through networking with his fellow students, he found a job he currently enjoys, and is hoping to find a paid internship or job through his time here that pertains to his novelistic career aspirations.
