Tanner Murphy is a 21 year-old senior majoring in Electronic Media with a minor in computer science at Texas State University. He is well-versed in the use of digital media and has a genuine personal interest in the subject. Outside of academia, Tanner produces his own independent digital content via web design and his YouTube channel for which he does all of his own video-editing.

When he is not at his computer, Tanner has a multitude of creative hobbies to keep him busy. He is a talented musician who plays the guitar, trombone, and saxophone. Also passionate about film, he originally planned to pursue a degree from The University of Texas at Austin’s Radio-Television-Film program before settling on Texas State. His favorite movie is the Coen Brothers classic, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?". He credits its creators with inspiring him to want to become a director himself.

Before moving to San Marcos and beginning his education at Texas State, Tanner was a resident of nearby Buda where he graduated from Hays High School in 2012. Tanner is expected to graduate from Texas State in the spring of 2017 with the intended goal of pursuing a career as a coder. He plans to use his knowledge of web design to produce websites, computer software, and mobile apps.
