Question 1: This is the 25-year anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, how do you think Texas State has changed since the implementation of the act?
Cruz: "There are ramps everywhere now, just like the stairs. It gives people that are handicapped a way to get around efficiently."

Question 2: Do you ever use any of the physical accommodations required by the ADA, such as elevators, ramps or door openers? How does this affect your commute around campus?
Cruz: "I sometimes use elevators to get to classes quicker. Also, it isn't as physically demanding as taking the stairs.

Question 3: What do you think this campus or this university would be like without the ADA?
Cruz: "It would be very difficult for handicapped students to get around campus without the ramps. That would lead to less diversity in the students that attend this school."

Question 4:  Does the ADA affect you personally in any way?
Cruz: "Not much. However, I always think I see a good parking spot, but then I realize it's a handicap spot."

Question 5: How do you think the university does in complying with the ADA?
Cruz: "From what I've seen, they do a great job in helping all of the students that need that help. I've also seen students in wheelchairs are able to get on the buses with the machine that lifts them inside.
