By Andrew Saenz

Samuel Ramirez began his college career in 2013 at Texas State where he majors in Public Relations. Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Samuel took a huge interest in the Texas Rangers baseball club which has since inspired him to seek a career in PR for the team he has come to love.

Out of the classroom, Samuel is a musician and freelance mariachi. He got his start playing guitar in middle school and developed an interest for mariachi music after joining the school’s mariachi program. Samuel is highly skilled in many instruments including the vihuela, guitarron and guitar. His high school’s mariachi group has won many awards and taken him to compete in cities like San Antonio, Albuquerque, Las Cruces and Orange County. In 2014, Samuel played in the Texas State University group “Mariachi Nueva Generacion.”

Samuel enjoys sports, taking photos and working on his swing at the batting cages. You can catch him playing music around the San Marcos area and also with his group “Mariachi Allende,” in his hometown of Fort Worth.
