As his last couple of years at Texas State is approaching,
and the finish line that is graduation is in sight, Dan Patino, a junior and an
experienced advertising major with a minor in art, is grateful for the memories
he has made at Texas State. Although coming to San Marcos was not his first
choice, the adversity of torn ankle ligaments tearing away the opportunity to
play Tennis at Texas Lutheran University led Patino to becoming a bobcat. After
spending a year at a Junior College in his hometown outside of Houston, Patino
fell in love with Texas State and threw himself into everything it had to offer.
Balancing his time between school, working as a University Ambassador, playing
for the club tennis team and club polo team, Patino truly became the epitome of
a proud Texas State student. Among his many activities Patino also got the
opportunity to study abroad throughout Italy, gaining a life experience that
can’t be found in a textbook – all while getting a taste of the best gelato in
the world. The experience of being able to work as a University Ambassador not
only helped Patino grow to appreciate the campus, but he also helped many
incoming freshman fall in love with Texas State just like he did. Although his
time here at Texas State is coming to a close, Patino’s future is only
beginning. He plans to head to Fort Worth to attend A&M Law, work in local
politics, and eventually turn his hobby of reading legal contracts into a
career by starting his own private firm in Contract Law.
