Fabiola Marroquin, an ambitious student at Texas State

Fabiola Marroquin, 19, is definitely not your typical collegiate student. She was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico and decided to move to San Antonio, Texas when she was 14 because her dad knew America was a land full of opportunities. She never let the fact that she did not know English very well stop her from accomplishing her goals.

Marroquin enrolled into her dream school Texas State University in 2013 and because she was so ahead of the game while in high school she got the opportunity to graduate a year early. After graduating in the spring of 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in communication studies she will then obtain her master’s degree in California.

Not only is she extremely passionate about the academic side of her life, also, she enjoys running, cooking and eating healthy more than anything. “I try to run at least 2 miles per day. It seems to clear my mind and release so much stress that adds up between work and school,” said Marroquin.

Ambition is one characteristic that never seems to leave her mind. She knows exactly what she wants and also knows she will achieve it. Even at a young age, Marroquin has never gave up on her drams when half of the time she is competing against older people. She says that with a positive mind and God by her side, she will never be brought down.
