5 Things To Know About Texas State University Campus Carry

Texas Senate Bill 11 (SB 11)- was signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbot on June 1st, 2015 and took and took just over a year to implement on campuses.

Put into effect- as of August 1st, 2016 concealed carry of handgun by licensed holders is allowed on Texas public university campuses.

Campus carry is not open carry- which means handguns cannot be visible either partially or wholly

Age requirement- You must be 21 years of age or older with valid license/ certification.

Gun free areas- premises providing services for minor children on Texas State campus such as: child development center, speech-langue-hearing and physical therapy clinics, and locations used for pre-K through grade 12 summer session activities and camps, as well as the health center and counseling centers.
