1.The university had a record enrollment of 35,568 student last year and is expected to have a record or near-record again this year. How has this increased enrollment affected you?

- "Traffic is absolutely horrible because of the amount of students that are in San Marcos. There is just too thick of an index of students. You cant move around the town easily anymore. The city of San macros is too small for 35,000+ students. It makes getting from point A to point B horrible."

2. Should the university continue to grow?

- "Absolutely not. If anything we should lessen the amount of students they're allowing in."

  • Why do you feel that way?
-"Because the city of San Marcos is not as big as the university is trying to make it be. This was a small town if you really look at the history of San Marcos. There's just way too many people here and I feel like its making the town suffer because of all the students enrolled. There's never ending contruction because of the amount of people here and them trying to expand to fit the amount of students."

3. Did the size of the university influence your decision to come here?

-"Yes most definitely.  When I graduated from high school I wanted to come to Texas State because it had a small university feel without being away from big attractions like Austin and San Antonio or even things to do in San Marcos like the river. A smaller university really attracted me in the first place and its just completely the opposite now."

4. Since you've been at Texas State has there been a lot of drastic changes with construction?

-"Some of the changes aren't as drastic in some areas on campus as in others. I think the UAC buildings is one of the biggest changes we've had. Also the parking services building that was moved into a bigger building and added on to it behind North LBJ. Campus continually changes for sure. Even my dad who is a Texas State alumni says the same thing."
