Marco Lozano is a Texas State student, world traveler and aspiring musician.

Lozano was born in Germany in 1991 and has been to over ten countries including Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Ireland and France. His parents were both in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Ramstein Air Force base in Germany.

While living in Germany, Lozano took advantage of visiting nearby countries. Lozano strongly believes traveling has broadened his perspective.

"One must escape from their comfort zone to learn about the world around them,"Lozano said. "This can only be done through travel."

During a visit to Pula, Croatia, Lozano went cave diving in the blue waters.

After graduating from high school in Germany, Lozano came to Texas State to pursue a public relations degree with a minor in International Studies. Lozano decided to attend an American university as opposed to one in Europe because most of his family lives in Texas.

At age 12, Santa Claus brought Lozano his first electric guitar and began taking music lessons. In high school, Lozano was active in the jazz ensemble where he learned to be diversified in music. After getting accepted into the Honors Jazz program, all the students in the ensemble received the opportunity to work with the world-renowned trombone player Jiggs Whigham.

Today Lozano continues to make original music. This summer he recorded a demo of funk rock music on which he sang and performed.
